The global sports streaming leader, DAZN, has announced a landmark partnership with LALIGA that will see fans around the world gain free access to official highlights from every match across the next two seasons.
Covering the 2025-26 and 2026-27 campaigns, the agreement represents a decisive step in DAZN’s strategy to expand its football offering and strengthen its international presence in an increasingly competitive media landscape.
Under the terms of the deal, DAZN will make short-form highlights of all LALIGA EA Sports fixtures available free of charge, enhancing the visibility of one of the world’s most prestigious football leagues. Significantly, the platform will also stream one live match per matchday at no cost, beginning with the upcoming season. This development brings an end to Spain’s long-standing practice of broadcasting a weekly “open match” on terrestrial television and firmly positions digital streaming as the new home of free-to-access football coverage.
This partnership supports DAZN’s global football strategy. By offering free highlights and a weekly live match, DAZN seeks to attract new viewers, broaden its audience, and reinforce its position as a leading football platform.
This announcement comes amid strong competition among streaming services, as they seek to balance exclusivity and accessibility. DAZN’s move to offer free LALIGA content supports its goal of long-term global growth. For LALIGA, the agreement provides an opportunity to expand its digital presence and engage younger audiences who prefer streaming and highlights over traditional broadcasts.
Commenting on the occasion, Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said, “This is a fantastic moment for football fans globally. LALIGA is one of the world’s most prestigious leagues, and now millions of fans across the globe will be able to enjoy the best of Spanish football for free on DAZN. This partnership reflects our commitment to investing in our proposition globally and making top-tier football more accessible, and delivering premium, official content to fans wherever they are. We’re proud to be working with LALIGA to bring its incredible moments to the largest possible audience and building on our commitment to become the global home of football.”
Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, added, “We are pleased to broaden our partnership with DAZN to bring LALIGA highlights to a global audience in a way that is innovative, wide-reaching, and fan-first. DAZN’s platform and global reach make it an ideal home for our content, and we look forward to working together to engage millions of football fans with the best of LALIGA.”
The agreement is expected to give DAZN a competitive edge by combining free access with subscription packages, appealing to both casual and dedicated viewers. Leveraging LALIGA’s global reputation, this offering is likely to support DAZN’s growth in key international markets and strengthen its position as a leading provider of live and on-demand football coverage.
DAZN will distribute the LALIGA content across its global platforms, complementing its existing portfolio of elite football rights that includes Serie A, Bundesliga, J.League, UEFA competitions, and FIFA+ programming. As the 2025-26 season has already started, the partnership between DAZN and LALIGA is set to reshape the way millions of supporters experience Spanish football, highlighting the continued transformation of the sport’s media landscape in the streaming era.
