The road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games took a major step forward with the announcement that the global infrastructure giant, AECOM has been named the official venue infrastructure partner.
This pivotal collaboration sees AECOM bring its world-renowned expertise to the forefront, shaping the landscape of the Games and ensuring world-class facilities for athletes and spectators alike.
This strategic alliance underscores LA28’s innovative approach to hosting the Games, prioritizing the use of existing world-class venues while implementing smart and sustainable temporary infrastructure solutions. AECOM will be central to realizing this vision, contributing its architectural and engineering prowess to the design and adaptation of venues, and overseeing the comprehensive program management of their delivery.
A key component of the partnership will involve AECOM Hunt, the company’s construction services arm. AECOM Hunt will leverage its specialized capabilities to manage critical procurement processes, provide accurate cost estimations and scheduling, and oversee the construction management of necessary venue infrastructure. A particular focus will be placed on the development of temporary venues and the integration of overlays for existing permanent sites, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for athletes and spectators alike.
