La Liga lands new deal with Socios.com

La Liga has made its move towards the blockchain market in September when it declared a licensing deal with Sorare.

The Spanish top-flight league La Liga has become the latest rights-holder to sign a contract with Socios.com.

La Liga has brought onboard Socios.com as their Global Fan Engagement Partner. Both parties have agreed that the goal is to work together and develop fan engagement using various initiatives.

Various special prizes, signed merchandise, free match tickets, and various VIP preferences will be offered via the platform.

Chiliz-owned Socios.com, which was launched back in 2019 now has become quite significant in the footballing industry. The company now has agreements with clubs including Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia, and Levante.

Oscar Mayo, the league executive director, announced La Liga had commenced a research process of up to 18 months as to how to get into the blockchain and NFT market, involving a devoted team from departments across the organization.

Socios.com quite recently acquired the rights to front-of-shirt of Serie A club Inter Milan which replaced the tyre-making brand Pirelli.

Socios.com has made their presence in different areas of sports like MMA properties Ultimate Fighting Championship and Professional Fighters League, Formula 1 teams Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo Racing and the NBA’s Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers.
