BSC Young Boys, a Swiss professional sports club based in Bern, have announced a new partnership with the data intelligence company, Kitman Labs.
The pact has been reached to improve the oversight of player and coaching performance via the use of more extensive data.
The Bern-based club will implement the whole portfolio of Kitman Labs technologies, including the iP: Intelligence Platform, throughout its men’s first squad. This will feature performance medicine, performance optimisation, and coaching and development solutions, which will combine player-specific medical, performance, and development data into a completely integrated and shared sophisticated operating system.
Kitman Labs’ Intelligence Platform is the only natively developed platform capable of integrating a club’s complete data environment by consolidating all third-party data sources and providers into a single platform meant to offer BSC Young Boys a real-time perspective of its players.
The centralised platform is intended to enable consistent, accurate data collection across the company, ultimately giving insights and enabling the sophisticated analytics required to guide tactical and strategic decision-making.
Christoph Spycher, Sporting Director of BSC Young Boys, said, “While the collection of data is essential, the value of that data can only be realised if you’re collecting the right data, consistently, and have the ability to convert that data into practical intelligence. With Kitman Labs, we are putting the technology in place to do just that. By combining medical, performance and development data in one shared system, our coaches, staff, practitioners and players now have the ability to generate the insights necessary to address everything from injury prevention and recurrence to load management and rehab to performance benchmarking and player progression.
“By streamlining the collection of data and providing the analytics, reporting and visualisation tools necessary to communicate those findings, our practitioners can spend less time running analysis and more time applying those insights in training and on the pitch.”
Kitman Labs has a proven track record of working with elite teams and leagues in a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, rugby, and American football.
Football clubs that employ the company’s technology include Rangers FC, Luton Town FC, Fulham FC, and more. Furthermore, Kitman Labs has also announced the introduction and rollout of The Football Intelligence Platform to all Premier League academies.
Stephen Smith, CEO and Founder of Kitman Labs, said, “BSC Young Boys have an incredible track record of success both domestically and in major European competitions. The club and its leadership have made a clear commitment to leveraging technology, data and analytics to help inform and unlock player welfare and performance outcomes as they continue to elevate their level of play. We look forward to partnering with them to help achieve those goals on every front.”
