The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Kansas City Current, and Bank of America have announced a multi-year renewal of their partnership, extending a collaboration that combines corporate investment, community engagement and grassroots soccer development across the Kansas City region.
The renewed agreement sees the Bank of America continue as an official partner of the Current while expanding its involvement in initiatives to increase youth participation in soccer and expand access to the sport for underserved communities.
A key component of the partnership will be the continued rollout of Bank of America’s “Soccer With Us” programme, which provides free soccer experiences and development opportunities for young people. Through the initiative, the two organisations will work together on youth clinics, community outreach efforts and programmes designed to foster participation and inclusion through sport.
The partnership will also deliver enhanced fan engagement opportunities, including a dedicated Bank of America-themed matchday during the 2026 NWSL season. Additional activations and experiences are expected to be introduced throughout the term of the agreement as both parties seek to strengthen connections with supporters on and off the pitch.
Commenting on the renewal, Kansas City Current Senior Vice President, Commercial, Missy Jenkins, said, “Renewing our partnership with a world-class, globally known brand like Bank of America represents a significant milestone for our organisation. Their steadfast support over the last three years has been extremely meaningful, and we greatly appreciate their continued belief in what we are building here in Kansas City. Our shared community pillars and commitment to youth sports will continue making this partnership resonate across the Heartland.”
Matt Linski, president, Bank of America Kansas City, added, “Bank of America is greatly invested in the Kansas City community, and our renewed partnership with the Kansas City Current allows us to strengthen that commitment. We look forward to continuing our work together, especially through initiatives like ‘Soccer with Us,’ to empower our youth and foster a love for the sport, building on the excitement for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”
Since first partnering in 2023, the organisations have collaborated on a range of community-focused initiatives, including youth soccer clinics, equipment donation programmes and local outreach projects. The renewal builds on those efforts while reflecting the growing importance of purpose-driven sponsorships in modern sport.
The agreement also arrives amid continued growth in women’s soccer across the United States and increasing corporate investment in the sector. For Bank of America, which serves as the official bank of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the partnership provides an opportunity to connect its global football strategy with local community engagement. Currently, it reinforces the club’s commitment to leveraging its platform to create a lasting impact beyond matchdays.
As women’s sports continue to attract greater commercial interest, the renewed partnership highlights how brands and rights holders are increasingly aligning around shared social objectives, with community development and youth participation becoming central pillars of long-term sponsorship strategies.
