The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced a new global partnership with JSW, strengthening the Indian conglomerate’s role in international hockey as the sport seeks to expand its global commercial and fan base.

The multi-year agreement has made JSW an FIH global partner, with the partnership commencing with the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026, which gets underway on 15 August. The tournament will feature 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams competing across venues in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The agreement builds on JSW’s long-standing involvement in hockey and its wider commitment to developing athletes and sporting ecosystems. The group was previously associated with the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup in Odisha in 2023, when it became a global world cup partner for the tournament.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram said, “On behalf of FIH, I am delighted to welcome JSW as an FIH Global Partner. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter in our shared ambition to take hockey to new heights and make our sport bigger, stronger and more accessible around the world. What makes JSW particularly special is its deep commitment to athletes. Supporting, motivating and standing behind athletes throughout their careers is at the heart of what JSW does. This is a noble cause and one that is very dear to me personally.

“This partnership will help us inspire millions of current and future athletes and fans, while creating new opportunities for the next generation to discover, enjoy and connect with hockey. We look forward to working closely with JSW to make an even greater impact and shape an exciting future for hockey worldwide.”

Parth Jindal, Founder & Director of JSW Sports, added, “Sport has the power to shape individuals, build communities and inspire generations. At JSW, we believe in supporting the ecosystem around athletes and creating opportunities for them to perform at their best. Hockey has a special place in India’s sporting journey and our partnership with FIH gives us an opportunity to contribute to the sport on a global stage. We are delighted to support FIH’s efforts to grow the game, engage more fans and create greater opportunities for athletes around the world.”

The partnership adds another significant commercial relationship to FIH’s growing business portfolio. The federation has been actively pursuing international commercial opportunities, including its strategic partnership with SPORTFIVE to expand brand partnerships across key markets.

For JSW, meanwhile, the deal strengthens its positioning as an increasingly influential sports business, combining its domestic hockey interests with FIH’s international competition platform. With the World Cup providing the first major stage for the partnership, the alliance is positioned to support hockey’s commercial development, fan engagement and long-term global growth.
