JSW Sports, the distinguished sports arm of the JSW Group, has announced the addition of two top talents from Mumbai cricket, Suryansh Shedge and Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
Both athletes have shown immense promise in their careers and will play for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), respectively, in the IPL 2025.
Suryansh’s climb from local cricket to the IPL has been nothing short of spectacular. Suryansh was praised by older players, particularly Shreyas Iyer, who contributed to developing his innovative, aggressive style. He flourished under Iyer’s guidance during the SMAT 2024-25, registering an astounding strike rate of 251.92—the highest of the season. He also set a record for the fastest triple century in the Giles Shield Tournament 2016, reaching an undefeated 326 off 137 balls. His all-round abilities were on show during the BCCI Men’s Under-25 State A Trophy, when he scored 184 runs and grabbed 12 wickets in eight games.
Speaking on the partnership, Suryansh said, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the JSW Sports family and am grateful for the incredible support and resources that come with this partnership. It’s fantastic to have a team behind me that allows me to push myself on the field without having to worry about everything outside of it. I’m looking forward to all the good things that will come out of this partnership.”
JSW Sports has also signed Angkrish, India’s leading run-scorer at the 2022 ICC Under-19 World Cup in the Caribbean. He ended the tournament as the fourth-highest run-scorer with 278 runs in six innings, contributing significantly to India’s title triumph. After making his List A and T20 debuts for Mumbai in 2023-24, Angkrish’s the Indian Premier League (IPL) career began with KKR, who retained him for INR 3 crore ahead of IPL 2025. In his maiden IPL season, he demonstrated his promise with a scorching 27-ball 57 on his debut, becoming one of the youngest batters to do so. Throughout the season, he played an important part in KKR winning their third IPL title.
On his partnership with JSW Sports, Angkrish said, “I’m truly grateful for the trust and support that JSW Sports has shown me. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with an organization that prioritizes its athletes’ growth and well-being. As a cricketer, it’s crucial to be with a team that truly understands and nurtures my potential, and that’s exactly why I chose to sign with JSW Sports.”
Divyanshu Singh, COO of JSW Sports, said, “Suryansh and Angkrish represent the future of Indian cricket. Both have shown exceptional talent and promise in their respective journeys, and we at JSW Sports are happy to be a part of his journey from here on.”
Suryansh and Angkrish will benefit from JSW Sports’ world-class training facilities, experienced guidance, and extensive commercial representation. JSW Sports’ dedication to cultivating young, bright talents with the ability to thrive on the global stage and represent India with distinction is reflected in these acquisitions.
