Sony Pictures Networks India, the leading sports broadcaster in South Asia, has announced a significant expansion of its WWE coverage and confirmed that it will air John Cena’s final WWE match live on Sunday, December 14.
The broadcast will anchor a new multi-year agreement that brings an upgraded WWE programming slate to viewers across India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The renewed rights package positions Sony Sports Network as the home of two premium WWE properties across its television channels and Sony LIV:
• WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, featuring top WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown talent in high-stakes championship storylines, revived with a retro presentation style that nods to its iconic 1980s and 1990s run.
• WWE Evolve, launched in March 2025, is a weekly show spotlighting emerging performers from the WWE Performance Centre, the Independent Development System, and the Next in Line program. The series blends in-ring action with behind-the-scenes stories and acts as a platform for future WWE NXT talent.
The expanded slate deepens Sony’s long-standing relationship with WWE. The network has consistently delivered strong distribution and localisation strategies for the brand, helping WWE grow one of its most engaged fan communities outside the United States.

The centrepiece of the new agreement arrives on December 14, when Sony Sports Network will broadcast Cena’s final WWE match live and exclusively in India. Widely recognised as one of the greatest performers in WWE history, Cena’s two-decade career has produced unprecedented title runs, global cultural impact, and a level of consistency rarely matched in sports entertainment. His farewell bout is expected to attract major viewership across the region.
The final match will air on Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi, Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu, and stream live on Sony LIV at 6:30 AM.
Cena’s opponent will be determined by the ongoing Time Is Now tournament, a 16-superstar knockout competition designed to select the challenger for his farewell encounter. The finalists, LA Knight and Gunther, will battle for the opportunity to face the 17-time world champion in what promises to be one of WWE’s most-watched moments of the year.
