JioHotstar, the official digital broadcaster of the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy, registered a record-breaking login of over 170 million for the India vs England Test series, marking the highest-ever digital audience for a Test series.
As the series came to a thrilling finish, the fifth day of the fifth Test at the Oval saw a peak concurrency of 13 million on JioHotstar, the biggest ever for a Test match on digital. The England-India series captivated the nation with nail-biting competitions and intriguing surprises, resulting in a staggering 65 billion minutes of viewing time on JioHotstar.
The series not only represented the start of India’s campaign for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, but it also signalled a change of guard and a reinvigorated desire to recover red ball cricket supremacy. JioHotstar aired it in five languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content – Sports, JioStar, said, “The extraordinary response to India’s tour of England reinforced Test cricket’s ability to forge compelling narratives in almost every session of every match. Reaching over 170 million viewers and setting new concurrency records is a testament not just to the thrilling cricket, but also to our commitment to delivering an immersive storytelling and viewing experience.”
The new leadership and team approach received overwhelming favourable feedback, with fans profoundly engaged with ‘Follow The Blues,’ a behind-the-scenes digital series that provides a daily insight into training sessions and important themes. During the live presentation, a special part called When India Challenged the Crown looked back on India’s great Test heritage in England.
JioStar will continue to focus on cricket lovers and viewers with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025, which begins on September 30.
