The governing body for football in Italy, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced a new collaboration with an airline company, ITA Airways. This new deal is all set to run until December 2024.
The press conference was held in the great hall of the Federal Technical Center of Coverciano and was attended by FIGC President Gabriele Gravina and ITA Airways Chief Executive Fabio Lazzerini.
Gravina commented, “Today we celebrate a partnership that has very deep roots – a sort of natural union between our federation and ITA Airways. ITA Airways communicates the image of Italy and its excellence throughout the world, and the Italian national football teams are proudly part of this great system.”
The agreement establishes the corporation as the official carrier of the Italian national football teams. Along with this, the brand will also handle all air travel for the next two football seasons.
Every national team, be it male, female, youth, futsal, beach football, and esports, will receive benefits from this deal.
The Italian Referees Association, the Technical Sector, and the Youth and School Sector will also benefit from the accord, which also includes special capitulations’ for Federcalcio’s ‘business travel.’
Lazzerini, said, “I agree with the president of the FIGC and the coach of the Italian national team that millions of Italians think they know how to do our job better than us. Seriously, being here in Coverciano is exciting and this project is the culmination of a long work already started some time ago and which we are making official today.”
