The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Islamabad United (ISLU) has teamed up with the clothing retailer, Sapphire as a commercial partner for the seventh season. With this association, Sapphire became the official sustainability partner of the orange squad.
This announcement was made through the team’s official social media handles wherein it greeted the shopping platform with a feature post that said, “Islamabad United join hands with sapphirepakitsan for the HBL PSL 7 as our Sustainability Partner. Welcome to the ISLUFamily.”
Sapphire is a retail apparel brand introduced by the leading textile firm in Pakistan, Sapphire Textiles. The brand gives out high-street clothing, ready to wear outfits and unstitched 100% cotton material.
Having been crowned as champions twice, the veteran team would aim to replicate the success in the upcoming competition with strong players under its belt such as Asif Ali, Hasan Ali and captain Shadab Khan. The fierce tournament would start on January 27, 2022.
This T20 tournament in Pakistan has not only received significant attention from sports professionals but has also created a buzz in the commercial market. The franchise has roped in notable sponsorship deals with several brands. Islamabad United has recently partnered with The Citizens Foundation and Radio Pakistan. It has also signed an extension with CityFM89.
In addition to this, PSL has renewed its association with TikTok, HBL and Inverex ahead of the new season. PSL also inked a media rights deal with the ARY-PTV consortium and Daraz.
Islamabad United will kickstart its journey in the seventh edition by facing Peshawar Zalmi on January 30, 2022.
