ISL: Mumbai City FC pens down sponsorship deal with Midea

Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Mumbai City FC has signed a deal with Midea. The Global home appliances and air-treatment brand will become the Official Home Appliances, White Goods & HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) partner of the ISL team. The brand’s logo will feature on the sleeve of the first team kit.

Apart from featuring on the kit, Midea will gain visibility on matchdays and training facilities at the Nagoa Village Panchayat Football Ground. The brand will also use the club’s logo, player images and other Intellectual properties for promotional activities. Midea will also develop several fan engagement activities.

The deal was brokered by the City Football Group as part of its consultancy services to the Club. Mumbai City FC will kick off their 2020-21 ISL campaign against NorthEast United on Saturday, November 21.

Bimal Parekh, co-owner of Mumbai City FC, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with such a fantastic global brand. Midea’s ambition to grow in India has been impressive and we share their passion and commitment to develop and grow. We look forward to a successful season together.”

Brando Brandstaeter, Head of Global Brands and Communication at Midea, said, “Midea is very passionate about its global brand building. With the rise of football in India, partnering with Mumbai City was a logical step to engage even more with our young and passionate Indian consumers. Needless to say, seeing Ranbir Kapoor wearing the Midea branded Mumbai City shirt will help to show our surprisingly-friendly product range not only to Mumbai’s citizens but also to the entire Indian subcontinent.”
