Mumbai-based Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre has been named the official medical partner of Mumbai City FC, in a move that strengthens the club’s medical infrastructure and reflects the growing importance of sports science in Indian football.

Under the agreement, Lilavati Hospital will deliver comprehensive on-field medical support across matches and training sessions. This includes the deployment of ambulances, qualified medical personnel, and immediate emergency care services, ensuring rapid response in high-intensity environments. The partnership underlines the hospital’s capability to operate in elite sporting conditions where speed, precision, and preparedness are critical.

The collaboration comes at a time when clubs are increasingly investing in integrated healthcare systems to manage player workload, minimise injury risks, and optimise recovery. With the demands of a packed competition calendar, medical partnerships are no longer peripheral but central to sustaining performance across a season.

Commenting on the association, Rajiv K. Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital & Research Centre, said, “Through this association, Lilavati Hospital aligns itself with one of the prominent football clubs in India, reflecting a shared commitment to performance, resilience, and excellence. This collaboration allows us to extend our expertise in delivering high-quality, timely medical care to a high-performance sporting environment. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of players through comprehensive on-field medical support, while also strengthening our association with a team that reflects excellence, resilience, and discipline.”

For Mumbai City FC, the partnership represents a strategic step in strengthening player welfare and maintaining competitive consistency. The club continues to align its operational model with global standards, where medical and sports science teams play a decisive role in performance outcomes.

The association further expands Mumbai City FC’s commercial portfolio, with Lilavati Hospital joining brands such as Matix, Pizza Hut and Indian Super Gaming League as partners in the ongoing Indian Super League season.

On the pitch, Mumbai City FC are currently in strong form, placed third on the league table with 19 points from their first 10 matches. With three fixtures remaining against East Bengal FC, Mohammedan SC, and Punjab FC, the team will be aiming to secure maximum points to strengthen its position at the top end of the standings.

The partnership will be activated through integrated medical support and initiatives focused on athlete health, recovery, and performance, underscoring the growing professionalisation of Indian football.
