MI, CSK, RCB, KKR – Powerhouse of Brands

Indian Premier League is considered one of the best cricketing actions across the globe. It is not only just on-field competition amongst the world’s best cricketers, but also off-field competition amongst the brands and sponsors for various franchise.

Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore are considered as the powerhouse of brands.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have always been the favourites of brands to invest into because of the big names that they’ve on board. Moreover, the success of these two teams speaks a lot, which gives a lot of visibility to the brands associated with them.

Another major reason is the fan following of two franchise, in particular, they’ve the largest fan base across all the franchises combined together. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), despite their long awaited victory, have garnered attention of the brands only because of Virat.

It’s not wrong to say that brands rather invest in Virat than RCB because Virat himself is an international brand in the market and with this collaboration, it helps brands and sponsors leverage their visibility.

Kolkata Knight Riders has had a decent run in IPL so far and has seen big names of brands attached to the franchise.

One of the main reasons is King Khan and his fan following and secondly, KKR having multiple teams in other international leagues such as Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and South Africa T20 League. Because of this, brands get an additional opportunity to explore the International market.

Other franchise also have some big names attached but these four-franchise always top the sponsorship chart and are the first ones to close on the deals ahead of any IPL season.
