IPL Auction 2023: Top three unsold players

Unfortunately, the event in Kochi could only sell a maximum of 87 players to 10 teams.

The mini-auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 16 was a resounding hit for all of the teams. Every franchise invested a large sum to find the best combinations for their team.

Unfortunately, the event in Kochi could only sell a maximum of 87 players to 10 teams. As a result, the vast majority of players remained unsold. The following is a list of top players who went unsold and will thus not be competing in season 16 of the prestigious tournament.

  1. Mohammad Nabi:

Mohammad Nabi was unsold in the IPL 2023 mini auction. The Afghan player had set a base price of INR 1 crore for himself but received no bids.

Nabi was a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022, which could have been a factor in his lack of bids. The Afghanistan veteran was unable to play any games for KKR and thus had nothing to show IPL team management.

  1. Mujeeb Ur Rahman:

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, another star Afghanistan player, went unsold in the IPL 2023 auction. Rahman had also set a base price of INR 1 crore for the IPL 2023 mini auction.

Mujeeb ur Rahman did not participate in the IPL 2022. He played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2021 season. The youngster only played one match in the particular season and took two wickets. He was later released by the franchise.

  1. Rassie van der Dussen:

Rassie van der Dussen, a South African player who appeared to be getting high bids tonight, went unsold in the IPL 2023 mini auction. Rassie van der Dussen’s starting bid in the IPL 2023 auction was INR 2 crores.

Rassie van der Dussen played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2022. The franchise let him go ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. During the tournament, he played three matches and scored 22 runs.
