Welcome to the live blog of the player auction for IPL 2021. It is going to be a mini-player auction as IPL plans to have the bigger one next season when the new team is likely to be introduced. After 1097 players had applied for auction, BCCI trimmed down the list to 292 players (164 Indian players and 128 overseas players).

3:20 PM: The first name to come out of the bag of all-rounders is Glenn Maxwell. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore were involved in a long bidding war for the Australian All-rounder. Chennai joined the bidding late as the bid reaches Rs 5 crores.
3:18 PM: The first set of batsmen is over with Hanuma Vihari. The Indian batsman goes unsold.
3:17 PM: Aaron Finch and Evin Lewis go unsold.
3:15 PM: Bidding war finally begins for Steve Smith. RCB leading the race as of now, but DC has joined the race after Punjab pulled out. Delhi eventually wins the race and signs the Australian batsman for Rs 2.2 crores.
