As one of the founding franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals (RR) continue to maintain a distinct identity built around youth development, analytics-driven decision-making, and digitally focused fan engagement.
While the franchise has consistently positioned itself as one of the IPL’s more innovative teams, IPL 2026 has also marked a major transition off the field with significant ownership developments reshaping the Royals’ long-term commercial future.
A consortium led by Lakshmi Mittal and Adar Poonawalla recently agreed to acquire a controlling stake in Rajasthan Royals in a deal reportedly valuing the franchise and its associated teams at around $1.65 billion, subject to regulatory approvals. Existing investor Manoj Badale is expected to retain a minority stake and continue supporting the franchise in an advisory role.
On the field, Rajasthan Royals have remained one of the tournament’s most entertaining sides during IPL 2026, led by players including Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Jofra Archer.
Solar energy company Waaree Energies headlines the franchise’s sponsorship portfolio as the title sponsor, reflecting the growing presence of sustainability-focused brands within Indian sport.
RR’s principal sponsors include JK Lakshmi Cement, Jio, Red Bull, Oaksmith Packaged Drinking Water, and Ecolink, highlighting the franchise’s appeal among telecom, lifestyle, energy drink, and technology-driven brands targeting younger audiences.
Associate sponsors Goel TMT and HMD further strengthen the team’s commercial reach across infrastructure and consumer technology categories.
The Royals’ official partner network highlights the IPL’s rapidly evolving sponsorship ecosystem. Brands including Budweiser 0.0, Dream11, MobiKwik, Poornima University, Amul through Amul Protein, OpenAI through ChatGPT, Olio Pizza, BKT, Bisleri, JSW Paints, Maharashtra Tourism, BGauss and Travalate continue leveraging IPL visibility to strengthen nationwide consumer engagement.
The franchise has also expanded its gaming, licensing, and merchandise ecosystem through official licensees Real Cricket, Big Ant Studios and Cricket Icons, while Vany serves as the official merchandise partner.
Rajasthan Royals continue to position themselves as one of the IPL’s most digitally progressive franchises. The combination of new-age sponsors across AI, fintech, mobility, and sustainability sectors alongside the franchise’s impending ownership transition signals a significant commercial evolution for one of the league’s original teams.
