In the 43rd match of the IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on a struggling Delhi Capitals (DC) today, May 1, at 7:30 PM at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

RR comes into this home game in good form, ranking third on the points standings with six victories from nine games. The Royals are flying high after completing a stunning chase of 223 against the table-toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS). The breakout star of RR this season has been the young batting wonder Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who now tops their run charts with 400 runs, including a blazing 43 off 16 balls in the last game. With Yashasvi Jaiswal regaining form and Jofra Archer leading the bowling attack with 14 wickets, the Royals appear to be a complete team. Their major goal in Jaipur will be to take advantage of home advantage and get two more points, thus ensuring a playoff spot.

In sharp contrast, Delhi Capitals (DC) are in “must-win” circumstances, sitting in seventh place with only three victories from eight games. Axar Patel‘s team is now on a demoralising three-match losing skid, accentuated by a humbling defeat in their most recent appearance, when they were swept out for 75 against RCB. The Capitals’ batting has been erratic, with KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs leading the way, but the middle order has struggled. However, they will gain a significant tactical boost for this game with the projected return of Mitchell Starc, whose quickness and expertise will be critical in combating RR’s explosive beginnings. For DC, this game is about pride and mathematical survival; a defeat here would make reaching the playoffs extremely impossible.

Head-to-Head:

The two teams have accumulated precisely 15 victories in 30 matches since the debut season in 2008. While the overall record is equal, the Royals have usually had the home edge in Jaipur. In their seven matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, RR have five wins to DC’s two. The Capitals have struggled to break the “Pink City” stronghold, with their last victory in Jaipur coming in 2019. However, DC have a comparable advantage in Delhi, where they lead the head-to-head 7-4, confirming the pattern that both sides are particularly good on their home grounds.
