Digital financial services platform Navi has expanded its footprint in the Indian Premier League’s commercial ecosystem, with its payments product Navi UPI signing on as the official payments partner for three franchises ahead of the 2026 season.
The fintech brand has partnered with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, strengthening its presence across one of the most commercially powerful properties in global sport while strategically focusing on key southern markets that deliver strong digital adoption and high engagement levels.
The multi-team strategy reflects the increasing role of the IPL as a high-impact customer acquisition platform for fintech companies, where live sport provides frequent, real-time consumer interaction moments. With millions of fans transacting across ticketing, food and beverage, merchandise, and online engagement platforms, the tournament offers a natural environment for digital payments brands to drive habitual usage at scale.
Under the agreements, Navi UPI branding will be integrated across a range of fan touchpoints, n-match recognitions such as the ‘Fastest Moment of the Match’ for RCB players, on-ground visibility through a cheerleader association with CSK, and social media-led fan engagement initiatives.
Rajiv Naresh, MD & CEO, Navi (formerly Navi Technologies), said, “The tournament brings together millions of people across the country in a way few platforms can. Our partnerships this season are about showing up where the energy is at its highest and connecting Navi UPI with everyday payment moments at scale. Whether it’s in the middle of a match or outside of it, the expectation today is simple: payments should be instant, seamless, and effortless. That’s exactly what we deliver with Navi UPI.”
The IPL continues to serve as a key battleground for fintech and digital-first brands seeking scale, visibility, and rapid user acquisition. With India’s UPI ecosystem driving significant growth in digital transactions, brands are increasingly leveraging cricket’s reach to build familiarity and trust among mobile-first consumers.
The 2026 season begins on March 28, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening fixture at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chennai Super Kings will begin their campaign on March 30 against Punjab Kings.
By aligning with three franchises simultaneously, Navi UPI is adopting a portfolio-led sponsorship approach designed to maximise national reach while building stronger relevance in high-growth regional markets, reinforcing the IPL’s position as a critical platform for financial services marketing in India.
