In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match 19 at Ekana Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT) dismantled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by seven wickets.
The Titans’ bowling effort was highlighted by a brilliant session from Prasidh Krishna, who finished with 4/28. He took full use of the surface’s bounce, taking off LSG’s strong hitters just as they were about to accelerate. Rashid Khan, the ever-dependable supporter, stifled the run flow in the middle overs with a 6.25 economy rate. The GT attack’s combined discipline meant that LSG never gained enough momentum to pose a really menacing target.
The chase was a classic example of T20 batting. Following an early hiccup, Shubman Gill (56) and Jos Buttler (60) snatched the game away from LSG with an 85-run stand. Buttler was the aggressor, punishing everything short or wide, while Gill accumulated points with beautiful strokeplay. Although both fell toward the end, Washington Sundar made sure there were no late nerves by closing the game with a flurry of boundaries to earn the victory with 8 balls to spare.
LSG’s batting performance was marked by promising starts that failed to translate into a match-winning score. Aiden Markram supplied the early momentum with a breezy 30 off 21 balls, and Rishabh Pant looked dangerous in his brief 18 overs, but the innings lacked a core foundation. The middle order battled against the high-quality speed, with Nicholas Pooran failing to break clear. It required late, gritty efforts from the lower order to get the score to 164/8, which seemed 15-20 runs short on a pitch that aided the bowlers.
With this win, GT now have four points and are fifth in the points table.
