The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has entered into a strategic partnership with Gujarat Titans, joining the franchise as the official certification partner for the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The collaboration reflects IGI’s broader objective of strengthening consumer awareness around diamond certification and reinforcing the importance of transparency, accuracy and trust in high-value jewellery purchases.

By leveraging the scale and cultural relevance of cricket in India, IGI aims to simplify the understanding of certification standards and highlight the role of independent verification in ensuring informed purchase decisions. The campaign draws a parallel between cricket’s Decision Review System (DRS) and the scientific precision involved in diamond grading, positioning certification as a credibility benchmark similar to technology-assisted decision-making in sport.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr Tehmasp Printer, Global CEO, IGI, said, “Just as cricket relies on DRS to ensure every decision is accurate and beyond doubt, IGI brings that same standard of independent review to every diamond it certifies. The 4Cs: Cut, Clarity, Carat, and Colour, form the foundation of our work, enabling transparency and trust. Gujarat Titans reflect the same discipline, consistency and pursuit of excellence that sit at the core of IGI. Through this partnership, we intend to reach a wider audience and reinforce the importance of informed, confident decision-making in diamond and precious gemstone purchases.”

Colonel Arvinder Singh, COO, Gujarat Titans, added, “We are very happy to partner with the International Gemological Institute. Gujarat has always been closely linked with craftsmanship, precision and a strong legacy of excellence, and this association reflects a shared commitment to these values. At Gujarat Titans, we look to collaborate with partners who stand for trust, integrity and consistency in their domain. For Gujarat Titans, this partnership further strengthens our endeavour to align with like-minded organisations, as we continue to build a purpose-driven and high-performance ecosystem around the team.”

As part of the agreement, IGI will feature as an associate partner, with its branding visible on the Titans playing kit throughout the IPL 2026 season, ensuring visibility across broadcast, digital and on-ground platforms.

Founded in 1975, IGI is among the world’s leading independent certification authorities for diamonds, coloured stones and jewellery, operating laboratories and gemological education centres across key global markets. With India playing a pivotal role in the global diamond value chain, the partnership underscores IGI’s continued focus on expanding consumer education in one of its most strategically important regions.

IGI joins a growing roster of Gujarat Titans partners, including Amul Protein, Budweiser 0.0, Bharat Taxi, Campa, Finkeda, Jio, Scapia, Livpure, Birla Estates, T10 Sports, EM Sports, HCG, Google Pixel, Google Gemini, and Grew Solar, reflecting the continued cross-sector commercial interest in the franchise’s platform.

Gujarat Titans will look to build momentum in the early phase of the season as they prepare for upcoming fixtures against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders, aiming to translate competitive performances into positive results in the matches ahead.
