In match nine of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) today, April 4, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Shubman Gill-led Titans are hoping to right the ship following a tight three-wicket loss to Punjab Kings in their season opener. While their top order, led by Gill and Sai Sudharsan, maintains a “control and continuity” attitude, the middle order is under increasing pressure to speed. Jos Buttler has been in form as well and will just need some help from other batters like Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, and Shahrukh Khan. It will also be interesting to see whether Washington will continue to bat at number four. GT’s bowling attack, which includes Mohammed SirajKagiso Rabada, and Prasidh Krishna, will rely on their past domination against RR.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, come into this game full of confidence after defeating Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets. Now led by Riyan Parag, the Royals have adopted a more volatile, aggressive batting approach. All eyes are on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 15-year-old phenom who stunned the nation with a 15-ball fifty in the first game. This year’s Royals group appears to be superbly balanced, strengthened by Ravindra Jadeja‘s experience and Jofra Archer‘s sheer speed.

Head-to-Head:

GT have historically dominated this rivalry, with a 6-2 edge against RR in their eight meetings since GT’s debut in 2022.
