In the 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Gujarat Titans (GT) will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tonight at 7:30 PM at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

GT are riding high after recovering from a poor start to win two straight games at home. Shubman Gill‘s men, currently sixth in the points standings, have found their groove, thanks to a formidable top three of Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and the explosive Jos Buttler. Individually, Gill has already scored 165 runs this season and just reached the record 4,000-run mark in the IPL. Their biggest asset this season has been the “death-overs engine room” of Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan, which has been bolstered by the addition of experienced all-rounder Jason Holder. Prasidh Krishna, the league’s joint-highest wicket-taker with 10 scalps, lends him valuable support. With Rashid Khan commanding the spin department and Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada reigniting the pace assault, the Titans appear to be a complete outfit hungry to crack the top four.

In sharp contrast, KKR are in a critical “must-win” scenario, having lost four matches and sitting at the bottom of the rankings. The three-time winners are still looking for their first win of the season. While their rebuilt opening combo of Finn Allen and Sunil Narine arrived with great hopes, consistency has been difficult to achieve. While Angkrish Raghuvanshi has given a spark, scoring 110 runs at a strike rate of 169.23, the team’s veteran players have battled for consistency. With the Narendra Modi Stadium providing a high-scoring surface with an average first-innings score of approximately 180, the data show KKR will need to snap their losing run by defeating a GT team that has traditionally had their number. To turn things around, KKR will rely largely on Cameron Green‘s all-round excellence and vice-captain Rinku Singh‘s finishing ability. On the bowling department, the mystery spin combo of Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy remain their best option to contain the Titans’ powerful hitters on a historically batting-friendly Ahmedabad pitch.

Head-to-Head:

Gujarat Titans have a strong record in their fledgling rivalry, winning three of four games. While the Titans have continually found methods to neutralise the Kolkata danger, KKR’s lone triumph remains one of the most iconic moments in IPL history, the match in which Rinku Singh hammered five consecutive sixes to seize victory from the jaws of defeat. However, the form guides for the 2026 season present a starkly different narrative for both camps: GT has a 59% victory probability as they are comfortably in sixth position with two victories, while KKR is at the bottom of the table (10th) with four consecutive defeats and a win probability of only 41%.
