The Five-time Indian Premier League champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), have entered into a three-season partnership with Vodafone Idea, with the telecom operator appointed as the franchise’s official communications partner.
Under the agreement, Vi’s logo will feature on the leading leg of the CSK match uniform, complemented by integrated campaigns across broadcast, digital platforms, and in-stadium activations. The collaboration is aimed at delivering connectivity-led fan experiences during the IPL seasons, reflecting the increasing importance of mobile engagement in live sport.
Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vi, said, “Cricket is deeply woven into India’s social & cultural fabric, creating shared experiences that unite communities across the country. At Vi, enabling those connections is at the heart of what we do. Our partnership with Chennai Super Kings represents a powerful coming together of shared values — passion, performance, and resilience. Together, we will be bringing fans closer to the game they love, celebrating the sport and delivering seamless connectivity that enhances every moment of the cricketing journey.“
KS Viswanathan, Managing Director, Chennai Super Kings, added, “We are delighted to welcome Vi to the Super Kings family. The association with Chennai Super Kings and Super Kings Academy reflects our shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of cricketers. Vi’s strong digital reach and youth connect align perfectly with our vision of building deeper engagement with fans and aspiring players alike. Together, we look forward to creating meaningful impact both on and off the field.”
The announcement comes as CSK reshaped its squad ahead of the 2026 season with a clear focus on youth investment. The franchise allocated ₹28.4 crore to secure uncapped players Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma at ₹14.2 crore each, signalling long-term intent. With a total purse of ₹43.40 crore, CSK added nine players overall, including Akeal Hosein and Matt Henry, to bolster their spin and pace resources.
The new additions join an established core featuring MS Dhoni, Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube, reinforcing a balance between experience and emerging talent.
For CSK, the partnership with Vi further strengthens their commercial portfolio at a time when digital infrastructure, streaming access, and mobile-first fan engagement are becoming central to the IPL ecosystem. For Vi, the collaboration provides access to one of the league’s most established and loyal fan bases.
