IPL 2025 SRH vs RR: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

In the 20 games played yet between the two sides, SRH hold a slight edge with 11 wins compared to RR’s nine.

In match two of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the finalist from last year SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad tomorrow, i.e., March 23 at 3:30 PM IST.

The side, led by Pat Cummins,  trounced opponents at home last season, and the players will take inspiration from those wins. Cummins will once again go all out with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma forming an electric opening duo for the team. Ishan Kishan will further advance the attack, with Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen following later. Wiaan Mulder and Abhinav Manohar also strengthen the lower order. It is an attack that will undoubtedly seek to score 250 runs or more on a regular basis. With the ball, Mohammad Shami, Harshal Patel, and Cummins bring a wealth of expertise to the bowling department, and they will aim to make an early impact. In the spin department, a lot will be upon Rahul Chahar‘s shoulder.

Sanju Samson is nursing a wound and will be unavailable as captain for the first few games. Riyan Parag will ultimately take over the team’s captaincy and face a significant challenge. The team has had difficulty against the SunRisers over the last two seasons, going in with three straight losses. Samson will bat and will aim to get a good start in this game, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The squad’s middle order is powerful, with Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana, and Dhruv Jurel set to go big in the middle overs. Shimron Hetmyer will be a solid finisher, who will seek to contribute fast runs in the lower middle order alongside Wanindu Hasaranga. The bowling attack will face a significant task since SRH have a powerful batting lineup. Jofra Archer is making a comeback into RR’s setup and it will be interesting to see how he gels in. Not much gets talked about Sandeep Sharma, but once again he will look to be effective in the death overs.
