In the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad at 7:30 PM IST.

SunRisers Hyderabad marked their entry into this season with a record-breaking 286-6 against Rajasthan Royals (RR), the second-highest total in IPL history. Ishan Kishan seized the stage with a stunning 106 off 47 balls*, while Travis Head hit 67 off 31 balls. With Abhishek Sharma, Kishan, Head, and Heinrich Klaasen, SRH boasts one of the tournament’s most powerful batting teams. Their plan is straightforward: attack from ball one and establish an enormous target. Mohammad Shami and Simarjeet Singh will head the pace attack, while skipper Pat Cummins and Harshal Patel will bowl in the middle overs.

In their maiden encounter against DC, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost in the last over. Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran propelled them to 209-8, but they were unable to defend their score as Ashutosh Sharma pulled off an incredible robbery. Aiden Markram, Pooran, Marsh, Rishabh Pant, and David Miller make a formidable middle order. Their main weakness, however, is their bowling line up. With key pacers sidelined, LSG struggled against Delhi, giving up 210 runs. The return of Avesh Khan is a significant help. Additionally, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, and inexperienced bowlers such as Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi, and Shahbaz Ahmed will have to stand up against SRH’s batting prowess.

Head-to-Head:

In their four games yet against each other, LSG possess a 3-1 record against SRH, who won the last recent meeting.

The last encounter in 2024 was memorable, as Abhishek and Head’s unbeaten attacks of 75 and 89, respectively, helped finish the target of 166 in 10 overs with 10 wickets in hand, one of the fastest chases in the IPL.
