In the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) tonight, i.e., April 19, at 7:30 PM at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
RR is in a difficult situation, having won only two of their last seven matches. Currently ranked eighth in the IPL 2025 standings, they recently lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) in a super over thriller, but it was the wrong calls that hurt RR fans the most. The unit also suffered a heavy defeat at home against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and the team will undoubtedly look to put all of this behind them and win again. Nitish Rana and Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s form are huge positive for RR, while Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel will play a significant role. Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma, and Maheesh Theekshana will all need to deliver consistently to keep RR in the game. We don’t know yet if Sanju Samson is fit for the game, but his inclusion will be necessary for the team’s success.

LSG, on the other hand, have been one of the most consistent teams this season, winning four of seven games. The team recently lost to CSK, thanks to a fiery knock by MS Dhoni. However, LSG intend to forget about that and return to winning ways. Nicholas Pooran, the current leading run-scorer, has been in outstanding form, with Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram also contributing significantly. Skipper Rishabh Pant has also shown intent but hasn’t been able to build anything out of it. Shardul Thakur leads the pace attack, while spinners Digvesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi continue to dominate the middle overs.

Both teams have faced each other five times in the IPL, of which RR have won four, while LSG have come out victorious on just one occasion.
