IPL 2025 opening weekend sets record with 4,956 crore combined viewing duration

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 had a record-breaking opening weekend, with a combined viewing duration of 4,956 crore minutes, providing an unequalled cricketing experience on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.

On JioHotstar, digital viewing of the first three matches was 40% higher than the previous season, thanks to a 54% increase in CTV consumption. With 137 crore views, a high concurrency of 3.4 crore, and an astounding 2,186 crore minutes of watch time from only the first three IPL 2025 matches, JioHotstar continues to create new records, catching the nation’s pulse like never before.

Furthermore, according to BARC data, the opening weekend of the TATA IPL 2025 smashed new television records, drawing over 25.3 crore people and registering an unprecedented 2,770 crore minutes of watch time – a 22% increase over the previous year. The average TVR for the first three matches increased by 39% compared to the previous season.
