In the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Gujarat Titans (GT) will host Rajasthan Royals (RR), tonight, i.e., April 9, at 7:30 PM IST at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After a difficult start in Ahmedabad, GT have rebounded with four consecutive victories to sit second on the standings. The top order has been excellent, led by Sai Sudharsan, who has scored 191 runs at an average of 47.75, and Shubman Gill, who, after a couple of bad outings, came back strong with 61* off 43 against SRH. Furthermore, Jos Buttler provides solidity, while Sherfane Rutherford has performed well as the impact sub. The bowling attack, led by Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Sai Kishore, has been effective, while Rashid Khan and Ishant Sharma will look to be better tonight.
RR had a rough start to the IPL 2025, losing their first two games, but have since rebounded with strong away victories against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). In their last game, they scored 205/4 and defeated Punjab by 50 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the way with a polished 67 off 45, while skipper Sanju Samson added 38 off 26. The middle and lower order, which includes Nitish Rana, Shimron Hetmyer, and Dhruv Jurel, is becoming more consistent. Jofra Archer is finding his groove with the ball, while Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana have taken 10 wickets between them in the middle overs. Sandeep Sharma’s death bowling has remained as reliable as ever.
