In the 60th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Gujarat Titans (GT) beat Delhi Capitals (DC)  by 10 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

GT won the toss and choose to bowl first, striking early with the wicket of Faf du Plessis. However, KL Rahul put on a gritty one-man show. Rahul remained tall in the midst of the struggle, scoring a superb century while wickets fell at the other end. GT’s bowlers kept tight control and never allowed any genuine partnerships to form, successfully isolating Rahul’s effort. Despite Rahul’s heroic ton, the lack of support prevented DC from gaining substantial momentum. GT’s disciplined bowling kept the scores under control, keeping the total within reach and putting them in a solid position for the chase.

Chasing a challenging target of 200, Gujarat Titans’ openers made it look easy as Sai Sudharsan (108*) and Shubman Gill (93*) put on a faultless, undefeated stand to secure the victory in just 19 overs. Despite not being renowned as power hitters, both batters demonstrated exceptional control and timing, shredding DC’s bowling assault with planned aggression. Sudharsan got going early, establishing the tone with clean strokeplay, while Gill stepped up the pace after a cautious start. Sudharsan’s knock featured 12 fours and six sixes, while Gill shockingly cleared the ropes more frequently than usual, blasting seven sixes and three boundaries in a rare exhibition of power hitting. Their unbroken 200-run partnership not only secured a dominant victory, but also helped GT advance to the playoffs in style.

KL Rahul (112*) was the first centurion of the day as he smacked it in just 65 balls, remaining not out. The batter hit 14 fours and four sixes, which took the side to 199/3 in 20 overs. The likes of Abishek Porel (30), Axar Patel (25) and Tristan Stubbs (21*) also got some runs.

For GT with the ball, one wicket each was taken by Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishor.

Sai Sudharsan was named Player of the Match for his brilliant batting show. With this win, GT have qualified for the playoffs.

Scorecard:

Delhi Capitals: 199/3, Overs 20, KL Rahul 112*, Arshad Khan 1/7

Gujarat Titans: 205/0, Overs 19, Sai Sudharsan 108*
