In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur today i.e. Sunday, May 7 at 7:30 PM IST.
With five victories and defeats each so far in the IPL 2023, the Royals have had a noteworthy season. However, the team appeared more stable at the beginning of the season than it does right now. The squad needs to win a few more games to guarantee their spot in the playoffs. While both their openers’ form has deteriorated, even the middle order appears drab. Nonetheless, the services of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal can still be dependable, however, there are some serious questions that need to be answered from the middle order. With the ball, the team had a bad day against Gujarat Titans (GT) as they conceded 119 in just 13.5 overs. Things are dipping for RR and in order to stay in the race, they need to buckle up soon.
SRH, on the other hand, struggled at home against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Although the bowlers performed admirably, it was the batters who let the supporters down. SRH are second from the bottom with six points and must now win all of their remaining games to have a chance to qualify for the playoffs. Even the Aiden Markram-led SRH are suffering from the same crisis as RR, with a dismal middle order. While Markram and Heinrich Klassen looked in touch, as did Rahul Tripathi, they all needed to bat deep to have a chance of winning. Marco Jansen is doing his best with the ball, but others must follow his lead as well.

In the 17 IPL matchups between the two teams, the Rajasthan-based side has prevailed nine times while SRH have won eight matches. RR defeated SRH by 72 runs in their previous encounter, which took place earlier this season.
