IPL 2023 on Disney Star surpasses last season’s reach by 21% for first 48 games

TV consumption for the initial 48 IPL matches was 266 billion minutes, the second highest ever.

Disney Star, the official television broadcaster of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023-27, broke last season’s viewership record for the first 48 games, according to a BARC report.

The aggregate exposure for the live broadcast of 48 matches was 451 million unique audiences, based on BARC data, which is 21% greater than last year’s full-season reach. In addition, it is 33% greater than the previous season with the same number of matches.

As per the broadcaster, this is the biggest ever reach in HSM, North, and West in IPL history. It is also the highest ever reached in Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP, Rajasthan, MP, Bihar, Pune/Haryana/HP, Odisha, and Bangalore, and the second highest in Delhi, Mumbai, and Karnataka.

Furthermore, TV consumption for the initial 48 matches was 266 billion minutes, the second highest ever (excluding COVID years). There is also a 29% increase in TVR for the first 48 games.

The league also had the biggest HD reach of 86 million, which is 3.4 times more than the previous season.
