Following this win, LSG have begun their IPL 2023 on a high note.

In the third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 50 runs at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The Capitals won the toss and opted to field first. The decision backfired as the KL Rahul-led side had an amazing outing with the bat. Kyle Mayers (73) played an unbelievable knock which straightaway put DC fans in some doubt. Mayers scored a brilliant fifty which included two fours and seven sixes. Nicholas Pooran (36) was the other batter to score quickfire runs which helped LSG to reach 193 runs. Krishnappa Gowtham (6) came in and hammered a six on the final ball which gave the side positive momentum.

While chasing, David Warner (56) was the only batter who stood tall and tried to chase down the total. Rilee Rossouw (30) was the other batter to score a few runs. With no other batter showing up for the team, DC only managed to put 143 runs on the board

While defending in the second innings, Englishman Mark Wood scalped a fifer and just gave away 14 runs. Two wickets each were grabbed by Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi.
