In the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) will host the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today i.e. Tuesday, April 25 at 7:30 PM IST.
Both franchises have different results going into this game, with Mumbai losing to Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 15 runs, while GT securing an astonishing seven-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The Gujarat-based unit has been playing excellent cricket and has undoubtedly maintained the form that helped them win the tournament last year. GT’s batting has been doing well lately, barring a poor effort against LSG, especially Shubhman Gill, who is considered one of the favourites to take home the orange cap. Furthermore, the captain’s form gives the side another batting advantage. Hardik Pandya got some big runs in the previous game and would like to do the same tonight. Meanwhile, the bowling lineup, which includes Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, and Mohammed Shami, has been doing well, thus far.
MI, on the other hand, have displayed some outstanding performances in the competition after an uncertain beginning. In the last game against PBKS, the five-time champions overall played well except for a few overs here and there which was enough to take the match away from them. The bowlers had a difficult time, particularly the pacers who leaked runs in the death overs of the first innings. However, with players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Cameron Green getting in some fine form, fans can expect some hammering at the batting paradise in Ahmedabad.
