In the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) will welcome Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) tonight i.e. Saturday, April 29 at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 PM IST.
DC had the worst possible start to their IPL 2023 campaign as they lost five consecutive games. But things are getting better for the unit as they will be heading into this fixture on the back of consecutive victories. The Delhi-based unit is currently at the bottom of the points table with just four points in seven matches played, so far. The top order prolongs to fail in providing an impact and it is the bowling unit that has been the saving grace for the team.
On the other hand, the 2016 champions are also having a similar season to their tonight’s opponents. Just like Delhi, SRH also played seven games, lost five and won a couple of them, as of now. The batting line-up has been unstable while the bowlers are doing the heavy lifting. The Hyderabad-based team has acquired the ninth spot with four points. The Aiden Markram-led side is just above DC in the standings due to a better run rate. In the most recent game, SRH fell prey to the David Warner-helmed unit earlier this week in Hyderabad and will look to avenge the defeat by beating Delhi on their turf.

It’s a tie between the two sides in the head-to-head competition. Both teams played 22 fixtures against each other, DC and SRH won 11 games each.
In their previous encounter, which took place earlier this year, Delhi won the game by seven runs.
