In the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) will host Mumbai Indians (MI) tonight i.e. Tuesday, April 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi at 7:30 PM IST.
DC have commenced their new season on a terrible note with three consecutive losses. The batting line-up is majorly at fault as the top order is yet to fire in the tournament. The skipper, David Warner is leading the charge with the bat but isn’t able to conjure results in the team’s favour. The performance of the bowling unit is equally poor. Ricky Ponting and Co. will have to pull off something special to bounce back from the current position and grab a spot in the top four of the points table.
On the other end, MI’s fate has been similar to their opponents as the five-time champions lost two consecutive games so far. Experienced players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan haven’t delivered something special till now. The youngsters, Tilak Verma and Tim David have showcased their capabilities but will still need some backing from the top-order to claim victories. The Mumbai-based team possibly has the poorest bowling line-up, so defending targets has been a nightmare for the unit. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the big responsibility of delivering with the ball is bestowed upon Jofra Archer, who was also benched in the previous game due to precautionary measures.
The two sides playing tonight are the only teams who are yet to bag a victory in the ongoing season.

MI have the upper hand in the head-to-head competition. The two sides played 32 fixtures, Mumbai won 17 games while Delhi emerged victorious on 15 occasions.
In the last outing between the sides, which took place in the previous season’s last match of the league stage, MI won the game by five wickets.
