IPL 2023 amasses live telecast reach of 434.2 million

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has gathered a live broadcast reach of 434.2 million viewers, the second most ever for the sporting event.

IPL also had its highest-ever reach in the Hindi-Speaking Market (HSM) with 291.4 million viewers. The cash-rich league has also gained 25 million viewers in the fourth week of this season, which is also the most ever.

According to BARC data, the competition’s ratings had increased by 27%. The aggregate reach of the television coverage for the first 38 matches is 434 million unique viewers, which is 17% greater than the reach for the entire season.

The ongoing season of IPL also had the highest-ever reach in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, MP, Bihar, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana. It has the second-highest grossing reach in Delhi, Mumbai, and Karnataka.

The week before, viewership for the live broadcast of the first 29 games of IPL 2023 exceeded 40 crore, a 24% increase over the previous edition. Furthermore, the IPL 16 HSM TV viewership was the biggest in the tournament’s history in mid-April, with 20.4 crore spectators watching the first ten matches.

According to the previous BARC data, 36.9 crore viewers watched Disney Star‘s live broadcast of the first 19 matches.
