In the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Delhi Capitals (DC) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, May 5 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
After clinching five fixtures in a row, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s winning run was obstructed after they lost to Gujarat Titans (GT) in the previous week. The 2016 champions will head into their upcoming game on the back of two consecutive defeats. The swing bowler Marco Jansen, who has been highly effective in the powerplay has conceded tons of runs at the backend of the innings, which could be a concern for the team. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Umran Malik have been in good form. SRH already have a healthy NRR, a couple of more points could fetch them the third spot on the leaderboard. The Kane Williamson-led team has played nine games so far, lost four times and won five matches. With 10 points, SRH have acquired the fourth spot.
Delhi Capitals have been struggling with their momentum since the commencement of the season. The 2020 finalists haven’t registered a consecutive victory in the season so far. The likes of David Warner, Rishabh Pant, Rovman Powell and Axar Patel have fired with the bat on several occasions. The in-form players have to step up to lift the team and attain a spot in the top four. DC played nine games so far, out of which they won four and lost five games. The Delhi-based team has occupied the seventh position with eight points.

SRH have the upper hand in the head-to-head competition. The two teams faced off in 20 games, Hyderabad won 11 fixtures while Delhi emerged victorious on nine occasions.
In the last outing between the two teams, DC won the match by eight wickets.
