In the 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will play against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, May 1 at the Maharastra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
Sunrisers Hyderabad made a terrific comeback after losing the first two games of the season. The 2016 champions were on a five-match winning streak until they faced Gujarat Titans (GT) and lost to them in a last-ball thriller. SRH have found their key contenders for the ongoing edition who have the potential of winning games for the team. Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram have been the MVPs with the bat for the Hyderbad-based franchise. Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan have been spewing venom in the last few games. The Kane Williamson-led team played eight fixtures so far out of which they won five and lost thrice. With 10 points, SRH have acquired the fourth spot on the leaderboard at the moment.
The second most successful franchise in the Indian marquee T20 league has been going through one of the worst seasons. After featuring in eight games in the ongoing edition, Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious just twice. CSK are finding it difficult to control the flow of runs in the death overs. In their previous match, the defending champions lost to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a last-over encounter. The four-time IPL winners may look for new permutations and combinations to get back on the winning ways. With four points to their name, CSK have occupied the ninth position.
CSK have the upper hand in the head-to-head competition between the two teams. The two franchises took on each other on 17 occasions, Chennai won 12 games while Hyderabad emerged victorious five times.
In the last outing between the two teams earlier this season, SRH registered their first victory of the season after winning by eight wickets.
