Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) headed into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after missing out on the opportunity to clinch their third title in the previous edition’s final. Before the commencement of the ongoing season, KKR managed to land multiple sponsorship deals and extensions to lay a stronghold on the commercial pitch.
With the addition of some popular brands, the Shahrukh Khan-backed team’s sponsorship portfolio looks robust. Let’s have a look at the team’s sponsors:
The two-time IPL champions have agreed to a three-year sponsorship deal with the Mobile Premier League (MPL). The multi-year contract was signed in 2021. The deal includes MPL’s logo to feature on the team jersey.
KKR have also roped in a Bangalore-based ed-tech firm, Unacademy as the principal sponsor. The two entities inked a deal in 2021.
The Kolkata-based team has signed plenty of brands in this category. KKR teamed up with Lux Cozi and its logo can be seen on the top-left corner.
These brands will undoubtedly receive a lot of exposure throughout the ongoing season of the cash-rich Indian league.
Following their thrilling win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Shreyas Iyer-led team will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their upcoming match on March 30, Wednesday at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. The fans will be hoping that the Knight Riders can repeat their performance from the first game.
