In the 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will go toe-to-toe with Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday, April 14 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
Gujarat Titans will be heading into this fixture after registering their maiden IPL defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) earlier this week. The Hardik Pandya-led team commenced their debut season with a roaring form as they won three consecutive games. With Shubman Gill giving frequent starts, the skipper progressing the innings in the middle overs, Rahul Tewatia finishing matches along with Rashid Khan tricking the batsmen, GT seems to be on the right track in their inaugural edition of the Indian marquee T20 tournament. The Gujarat-based team will look to learn from their mistakes before they enter the field on Thursday. GT are currently at the fourth spot with six points.
On the other end, Rajasthan Royals are also going through a similar season to their upcoming opponents. The inaugural champions have also lost just one game yet and that defeat came against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In their latest fixture, the Sanju Samson-led unit clinched a narrow three-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The in-form overseas players, Jos Butler, Shimron Hetmyer and Trent Boult along with the experienced spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin have been making the proceedings easy for the team on the field. At the moment, RR have acquired the number one spot with six points.
