After pulling off an edge of a thriller fixture earlier this season, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will take on each other once again in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The 58th match of the season will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on May 11 at 7:30 PM IST.
Rajasthan Royals are having their best season in the past few years as the unit has been performing consistently well since the beginning of IPL 2022. With the likes of Jos Bulter, Shimron Hetmyer and Yuzvendra Chahal firing on all cylinders, RR have managed to stand tall on several occasions. The inaugural champions have played 11 games so far, out of which they won seven and lost four. The skipper, Sanju Samson would like to carry the momentum and form, while inching closer toward the playoffs qualification. With 14 points, RR have acquired the third spot currently.
On the other end, Delhi Capitals have struggled with their form and consistency throughout the season. The 2020 finalists will walk into their next game on the back of a massive 91-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). DC played 11 matches, they won five and lost six games. David Warner and Rovman Powell have been the leading men with the bat for the team. The Rishabh Pant-led team has to win their remaining games to stand a chance to qualify for the knockouts. DC have occupied the fifth position with 10 points at the moment.
Head-to-head:
In the head-to-head competition, RR are slightly ahead. Both teams have collided on 25 occasions, Rajasthan won 13 games while Delhi emerged victorious on 12 occasions.
The last outing between the two teams earlier this season ended on a controversial note as RR won by 15 runs.
