In the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Delhi Capitals (DC) will square off with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday, April 16 at the Wankhede Stadium at 7:30 PM IST.
In the ongoing season, Delhi Capitals have been finding it difficult to maintain consistency like the past few years. The Rishabh Pant-led franchise has played four games so far out of which they won and lost two games each. After beating the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their latest game, DC will be heading into their upcoming match on a much more confident note. The unavailability of Mitchell Marsh has been creating some issues as the Aussie would have contributed with both bat and ball. The silver lining for the team has been the form of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and Kuldeep Yadav. With four points in four games, the Delhi-based franchise has acquired the eighth spot.
On the other end, Royal Challengers Bangalore will be entering into their next IPL 2022 game on the back of a 23-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The absence of Harshal Patel was evident earlier this week when RCB couldn’t contain the flow of runs in the death overs. Overall, the season has been going well for the Faf du Plessis-led team as they played five games, won thrice and lost twice. The star performer for the illustrious team in the ongoing season has been Dinesh Karthik, who averages 131. The inclusion of Glenn Maxwell has also strengthened the batting line-up. A weighted contribution from the top order could help the team on a larger scale in IPL 2022. With six points till now, the Bangalore-based franchise has occupied the sixth spot on the table.
