Kolkata Knight Riders will head into their third fixture of the season on the back of a last-over defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) earlier this week. The KKR-batting unit had an underwhelming outing in the last game. Apart from Andre Russell, no other batsmen could score over the 20-run mark. The Knight Riders’ bowling department has been their plus point so far with the likes of Tim Southee and Umesh Yadav spewing venom with the new ball in the powerplay. With a little bit more effort with the bat along with the in-form bowlers, KKR could outdo the much-experienced contenders of Punjab Kings.
The Shahrukh Khan-backed team lost to RCB in their last game, while PBKS beat the same opponent in their first game of the edition. After getting hammered to over 200 in the first innings on a batting pitch, the Punjab-based team managed to chase down the massive total with a splendid batting performance. After gaining a ton of confidence, Mayank Agarwal and the team will walk into Wankhede with a robust batting line-up along with skilful bowlers to attain their second victory of IPL 2022.
The head-to-head competition between the two teams inclines toward KKR. The two teams have faced off on 29 occasions, Kolkata won 19 games while Punjab emerged victorious on 10 occasions.
PBKS won the match by five wickets when the last time, these two teams squared off.
KKR: WinZO and Unacademy.
PBKS: Lotus Herbals, Jio, All Seasons Hand Rub and Dream11.
