In the fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Gujarat Titans will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on March 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
The Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise Lucknow Super Giants that will be captained by KL Rahul will head into their debut IPL fixture with the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Ravi Bishnoi, Manish Pandey, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder and many more. With ammunition like that, LSG looks well-balanced with players having experience at different levels of the game. Rahul didn’t have much success while captaining Punjab Kings (PBKS), the top-order batsman will look to turn things around with his new franchise and display his leadership skill.
On the other end, the CVC Capital Partners helmed team, Gujarat Titans have also appointed Hardik Pandya as their skipper who is yet to prove himself in that position. Apart from the Indian all-rounder, in the draft picks, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill were selected. Some of the players who got onboard by the Gujarat-based team includes Jason Roy, Mathew Wade, David Miller, Lockie Ferguson and Mohammed Shami. GT have some of the renowned T20 players around the globe.
Out of the two new teams, the Pandya-led team looks much stronger on paper. It will be an interesting contest to witness as two new teams take on each other in a highly anticipated game.
