Following this win, Gujarat Titans are just one step closer to getting qualified for the playoffs.

In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Faf du Plessis won the toss and asked Gujarat Titans to field first. Hardik Pandya was quite delighted to lose the toss as his team is managing well in both the departments. The bowlers of GT once again did an amazing job to confine RCB to a par score after initially giving out too many runs in the first 10 overs. Pradeep Sangwan did quite an exceptional job on his IPL return. Rashid Khan was back to his best as he was also economical today. This bowling attack helped the Gujarat based team to restrict RCB to just 170/6 in 20 overs.

The opening combination of GT once again worked out as the duo gave a fabulous start of 51 runs in the powerplay until Wriddhiman Saha (29) got out in the eighth over to Wanindu Hasaranga. Shubman Gill (31) from the other end didn’t last long as even he got out in the next over. The innings continued decently with Sai Sudharsan (20) there at the crease but things needed a boost and to give that, David Miller (39) came onto the crease in the 11th over. The South African batsman smashed four fours and one six to take GT close to the total. Along with him, Rahul Tewatia (43) once again did a ‘Tewatia’ to take GT home with three balls to spare. The left-handed batsman from Delhi smashed five fours and two sixes to end the game on high for Gujarat Titans.

For RCB and Indian fans it was a perfect afternoon as they witnessed their very own Virat Kohli (58) once again in form as he score a fifty after quite a while. The former Indian captain hit six fours and one six to give RCB a powerful start. Rajat Patidar (52) also scored a half-century in just 32 balls. In the end contributions from Glenn Maxwell (33) helped RCB reach just around par score of 170/6 in 20 overs.

Pradeep Sangwan, who was making his comeback in IPL, was brilliant with his left arm as he plucked two wickets which included opposition captain du Plessis. Lockie Ferguson, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph and Mohammed Shami got one wicket each against their name. For RCB, Hasaranga and Shahbaz Ahmed got two wickets each.

Rahul Tewatia was the Man of the Match for his powerful batting show for GT. He made sure that Gujarat won’t suffer and rely on bowlers to win matches once again. Following this win, Gujarat Titans are just one step closer to getting qualified for the playoffs.
