After pulling off an absolute gem of a T20 match in their previous meet up earlier this season, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will square off with Gujarat Titans (GT) once again in the 48th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Tuesday, May 3 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.Â
Punjab Kings are going through an uneven season so far, they are finding it difficult to be consistent. After beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) earlier this week, they fumbled against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a below-par run chase. To keep themselves in the contention for playoffs, the 2014 finalists need a couple of victories. PBKS played nine fixtures so far, out of which they won four and lost five games. With eight points, the Mayank Agarwal-led team has acquired the seventh spot on the points table.
On the other end, Gujarat Titans are having a complete opposite venture to their Tuesday opponents. The IPL debutants have been at the top of their game since the commencement of the ongoing edition. The unit led by Hardik Pandya has been outplaying every other team in the Indian marquee T20 league. The in-form Rahul Tewatia has won the previous two games for GT with the bat. The Gujarat-based team played nine matches so far, out of which they won eight games and lost once. GT have occupied the topmost spot on the table with 16 points.
