In the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will collide to keep their journey alive and face their next opponent in Qualifier 2. The fixture will take place on Wednesday, May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 7:30 PM IST.
Just like their fellow debutants, Lucknow Super Giants are also having an amazing inaugural season in the IPL 2022. LSG finished the league stage with 18 points at the third spot. At the climax of the league stage, the Lucknow franchise lost two consecutive games, which affected the net run rate and lost its second position to the in-form Rajasthan Royals (RR). KL Rahul, who is having a good season with the bat and also with the captaincy will aim to continue the amazing run in the last couple of crucial games of the season.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for the playoffs after Mumbai Indians (MI) restricted Delhi Capitals (DC) from acquiring 18 points. After commencing the season on a good note, RCB fumbled and lost back-to-back games. Heading into the knockout stages, the plus point has been the ace batsman, Virat Kohli‘s form. The top-order batsman won Man of the Match in their final game of the league stage. The bowling unit of the team has levelled up with the likes of Wanindu Hasaranga and Glenn Maxwell, tricking the batsmen on slow pitches.
In the head-to-head competition, Bangalore have the upper hand as they beat Lucknow earlier this season by 18 runs.
