In the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) for the second time in the season. The two teams will play on Thursday, April 28 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
After losing four consecutive games, Kolkata Knight Riders seems to be in all sorts of trouble. After winning three games in their first four fixtures, the Knight Riders were looking in solid touch with valuable contributions from all departments. The positive for the two-time IPL champions has been the form of Andre Russell with the bat and ball. A decent effort from the other end could help the Caribbean all-rounder to win games for the team. The Shreyas Iyer-led team have played eight games so far, out of which they won three and lost five. With six points, KKR have occupied the eighth position on the leaderboard.
On the other end, Delhi Capitals are having an uneven season so far. They have found it difficult to maintain consistency as they couldn’t win consecutive games this season. DC will be walking into this game on the back of a controversial finish to their previous match against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The Rishabh Pant-led team might have lost the game but the outing proved that Rovman Powell’s power-hitting can keep them in the game even with 30+ runs needed in the final over. The Delhi-based franchise played seven games, won thrice and lost four fixtures. With six points, the 2020 finalists have acquired the seventh spot.
Head-to-head:
KKR have the upper hand in the head-to-head competition between the two teams. Both franchises faced off on 30 occasions, Kolkata won 16 fixtures while Delhi came out victorious on 13 instances.
DC beat KKR earlier this season by 44 runs.
