In the 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday, April 9 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai at 3:30 PM IST.
The star Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja‘s journey as the team’s captain hasn’t started well. Chennai Super Kings will be heading into this fixture after three back-to-back losses. So far, they have lost against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). The Orange Cap holder of the previous edition, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who used to provide a robust start to the team’s innings has been struggling with the bat. With the inconsistent top-order along with very less death bowling options, the defending champions are looking in all sorts of trouble.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad have also been on the same track as CSK. The 2016 champions played two games so far and couldn’t manage to win even once. They have been struggling in all the departments. The absence of David Warner and Rashid Khan was felt in the first two games. There haven’t been any significant contributions from the skipper, Kane Williamson. The team management and fans will look forward to Williamson anchoring the SRH innings like the past few years. The Hyderabad-based team needs to buckle up before they face the four-time IPL champions.
In the head-to-head competition between the two sides, CSK have the upper hand. The two franchises have played against each other on 16 occasions, Chennai won 12 games while Hyderabad emerged victorious four times.
In the last outing between the two teams, CSK won by six wickets.
CSK: TVS Eurogrip, India Cements, Gulf, British Empire, SNJ 10000, Jio and Astral Pipes
